Trail / Event Description:  A level, scenic path around the park overlooking the water, Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island . Liberty State Park is a green oasis in the middle of metropolitan northern New Jersey . With magnificent views of the New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline, it is truly a gem of the Northeast. Its history was significant in the development of this country as it stands along with Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty as part of the trilogy of hope for many immigrants who came to this country during the late 1800's through the mid-1900's. This trail includes a beautiful walk along Upper New York Bay ( New York Harbor ) from the New Jersey side. View Liberty Island, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty . Feel free to ferry over in the course of the day. The park service and the Princeton Area Walkers hope you will enjoy the many historic, cultural and environmental features of this area - including the Interpretive Center , Central Railroad of NJ Terminal (ferry service) , Liberty Science Center and recreational facilities.

Awards and Fees:    There is no special award for this event.  Fee for IVV credit is $3. For non-IVV members we are requesting a $3 donation to assist in covering our expenses.
Directions:        From NY, PA or NY take the *New Jersey Turnpike from north or south to Exit 14B. From the west take I195 to the New Jersey Turnpike , then to exit 14B. Follow the signs for Liberty State Park into the park. The Start Point is the CRRNJ Terminal located on Audrey Zapp Drive at the Northeast corner of the park.   When entering the park, go left toward the Science Center and continue past it to Audrey Zapp Drive and turn right.  Continue straight on Audrey Zapp Drive, past the Marina, towards the CRRNJ Terminal.
