traverse Connecticut north to Massachusetts.FEES: Everyone is welcome to participate in this event.

TRAIL HIGHLIGHTS: The well-restored and picturesque Lock 12 of the 19th century Farmington Canal is the highlight of the rail trail, which runs south through Hamden to New Haven and north to Massachusetts (with some gaps to be completed in the future). Three miles of the walk are on this trail. With its 18th century white clapboard church on a center green, it is a typical New England colonial town. The well-known Cheshire Academy and converted factories are among the reminders of what the town was like 100 years ago.

DIRECTIONS:
FROM I-91N/S: Exit 18 (I-691W) to Exit 3 Cheshire. Go left onto Rte. 10S (Highland) for
almost six miles to Big Y shopping center on right. Dunkin Donuts is at
southern end of praking lot. FROM I-84E: Exit 26. At end of ramp, go straight at light for
5 mi. At top of hill, go right onto Main St. and proceed 4 blocks to intersection with Rt.10. Take
right (south) to Big Y - see above. FROM I-84W: Exit 27 (I-691). Proceed .25 mi.
to Exit 3 Cheshire. Take right onto Rt.10 (south) for about 6 mi. to Big Y.
