Wallingford native, Lyman Hall was a signer of the Declaration of Independence (representing Georgia) and his gravestone is in the Center Cemetery. George Washington came here twice in the late 1700s. Some execellent restaurants are in the town center, and the Gouveia Vineyards are a few miles east of town.
